Training Manual for Health Managers
Tanzania
BEANISH Tanzania offered a nine-month certificate course in Health Information Systems Management, which has been run since 2005 in Tanzania for students from Tanzania, Malawi and Ethiopia. A detailed course description can be found as BEANISH Deliverable D3.3 (here:

Zanzibar
The Zanzibar HMIS Guidelines for Facility level workers
is a very useful manual for health workers engaged in health information systems. It provides guidelines through basic explanations, examples and targets for all phases of the information cycle; 1) Collection, 2) Processing, 3) Analysis, 4) Presentation, 5) Self Asessment, and 6) Feedback. A "must-read" for all involved in health information systems implementation, both for IT and health professionals.
Mozambique
Courses are offered to health workers in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.

Malawi
BEANISH Malawi aims to develop, run and institutionalise courses on HIS as part of and in relation to the Masters Programme at the Medical College, University of Malawi and thus develop a national centre of capacity. Building on this centre of capacity and these courses, the project seeks to support the development and running of courses on HIS in the Health Training Institutions in Malawi and seek to make such courses part of their basic and compulsory curriculum.
Courses have been held drawing on the support from BEANISH Mozambique.
